Beautiful Baby Belly

Today, Total Beauty asks the questions Do Stretch Mark Creams Really Work? and it got me to thinking about Mustela Double Action Stretch Marks cream, which was a Can't Live Without product during my pregnancy. Unfortunately, I am prone to stretch marks, so I figured I was destined to get the stretch marks on my tummy that friends complained of. But I had read about this Mustela cream, and found it at Sephora, and thought why not give it a try? Good thing I did, because I did not get one stretch mark on my belly. Not one. Zip. Zero. Nada. I applied it everyday, and I truly believe it helped me. I mean, I have stretch marks on my thighs and hips, and they're not pretty - how could my stomach possibly be immune to them, if not for this cream? Don't know how it works on recent stretch marks, but it worked on preventing them, and I'd rather prevent than have to correct!

DOVE Giveaway!!!

On May 1st, I wrote about the new DOVE Ultimately Visibly Smooth Wild Rose Anti-Perspiring/Deodorant (click here to read). Well, it's been almost 8 weeks since I started using it, and I'm happy to say that overall I'm really pleased with this new deodorant. It has made the hair softer and, surprisingly, I did notice that my underarms do look better and smoother. I've always had issues with that, because as someone who is pale but has dark hair, even when freshly shaven my underarms still didn't look quite hair-free (this was particularly angst-inspiring during my teenage years). But the other day I noticed my underarms looked really good and didn't have the pit-version of the five o'clock shadow going on. Yay! DOVE wanted to give you the chance to try this new product (if you haven't already!) and is going to give 2 lucky readers a full-size DOVE Ultimately Smooth Wild-Rose Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant , along with coupons for $2 off future purchases of U...

Get Yourself Screened!!

Yeah, I don't have skin cancer! I had my annual full-body check today with the dermatologist, and I had a few spots I was concerned with, but the dr. gave me a clean bill of health. Whew. But I am one of the lucky ones. I read so many articles these days about skin cancer, and since I had so many sunburns as a young girl, I'm nervous about something developing. Read these facts from Olay , who has teamed up with the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery to sponsor free screenings across the country: Did you know... One person dies every hour from skin cancer. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer. Skin cancer in women under 40 has tripled in the past 30 years. Five sunburns double a woman's chance of getting skin cancer. UV exposure at tanning salons is just as risky as sunbathing outside. People with fair skin that burns rather than tans, people with red hair and people with blue eyes are at greater risk of developing skin cancer. People who have many (extens...
