ANYWAY...the answer to my lipcolor question from InStyle is as follows: Ms. Zellweger is wearing a Paula Dorf lip liner in Goddess with Laura Mercier Creme Lip Colour in Discretion. Based on the picture of the lipstick, either the cover shot of Renee was touched up and her lips made a little brighter, or the picture of the Laura Mercier lipstick is not color-corrected because it looks very nude/beige, while Renee's lips looked coral (to me at least - maybe I need to be color- corrected). And, as a matter of fact, I just checked out the LM website where the shade is described as beige-nude-creme, so I'm guessing Renee's lips were "coral-ized". Guess I'll have to make a trip to Nordstrom (oh, darn) to check out the Laura Mercier lip colour and see for myself just what it looks like in real life.

Now that the warm weather is here (well, most days anyway. Today, in my neck of the woods, - shoutout to Al Roker there- is kinda nasty and chilly), I'm feeling the need to be a little less pale. Of course, no color on my cheeks will come from the actual rays of the sun, I need a faux-glow! But I have never been able to find a bronzer that I Can't Live Without. I am fair skinned, and most of the bronzers I've tried are way too dark, and end up looking muddy. Or they are too shimmery, and settle into my pores and look terrible. I did buy a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Pink last year hoping that for light skin the pink might me enough of a glow, but it really didn't work for me as a bronzer (maybe because it's pink and not bronze, yes, I know what you're thinking) but I thought perhaps going with a pink glow instead of the darker bronze would be a better choice. The Shimmer Brick is nice, but not what I was hoping for. I do use it occasionally for highlighting, but it's too much for me to use all over my face, since I don't have great skin - it just accents the imperfections.
Just be-boppin' around the web, checking out some of my fave sites, I found this Laura Mercier Pressed Powder that might be worth a try. According to lauramercier.com, this pressed powder "is a silky smooth bronzing powder that glides on evenly giving the skin a soft luminosity and healthy glow without looking unnatural or heavy." Sounds great to me! The color looks light enough for fair skin, but, of course, I'll need to head to my local Nordstrom to check it out in per
son. At $32, it's a bit too steep to take a chance on ordering it online without testing it first. But I am encouraged by the color. I am heading to the grocery store this afternoon, so I'll see what my less expensive options are there, and who knows, maybe my hunt for the perfect bronzer will be over before I get to the frozen food section.

Did you know...
One person dies every hour from skin cancer.
One in five Americans will develop skin cancer.
Skin cancer in women under 40 has tripled in the past 30 years.
Five sunburns double a woman's chance of getting skin cancer.
UV exposure at tanning salons is just as risky as sunbathing outside.
People with fair skin that burns rather than tans, people with red hair and people with blue eyes are at greater risk of developing skin cancer.
People who have many (extensive) freckles on their upper back are at a greater risk of developing skin cancer.
People who have a history of sunburns, especially during childhood, are at a greater risk.
The depletion of the ozone layer may be significantly affecting the incidence of melanoma.
Exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and exposure at high altitudes are the most dangerous times to be exposed to the sun.
Those with an impaired immune system — especially those who have had an organ transplant, leukemia or lymphoma — are at a greater risk of melanoma.
According to one study, the use of a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher during the first 18 years of life would cut lifetime risk of melanoma by 78%.
And it was especially nice to hear the dermatologist say she could tell right away I have been using my sunscreen, because she said my skin doesn't have that "age-y" look to it. I beg to differ, but it was nice to hear that from a dermatologist. If only I had known about the powers of sunscreen earlier. My daughter won't have wrinkles till till she's 80 with all the sunblock I slather on her!!

For you lucky New Yorkers, Giorgio Armani is appearing at Saks Fifth Avenue on May
5th- that would be tomorrow - from 2:30-4pm to preview his Bronze Mania 2008 Collection. Meet Signori Armani when you make an Armani cosmetics purchase. The Bronze Mania collection consists of pretty much what you would think a collection called Bronze Mania would be. Lots of beautiful bronzes and golds to give you that sun-kissed look, or if you prefer, a sun-drenched look - but without having to bake in the sun! I like the sound of the Summer Foundation. In the summer, it is suggested to add bronzer to your foundation for a warmer glow, but this product eliminates that step and blends the bronzer in for you. I wish there were more shade choices - there's only two, like a one-size-fits all - fair to medium complexions and then tanned to dark complexions, which for a fair-skinned girl like me, often times the fair to medium can still be slightly dark, but I like the idea of this foundation and would like to try it out. For those of you who don't need/like foundation but still want a bronze finish, there are the Bronze Mania Skin Tints, with four shade choices. Also in the collection are some lovely lip glosses, an eye shadow palette that includes bronzing powder, and mascara that seems to have a bronze shade, but the website doesn't give a color name, only a thumbnail of the color, but it looks like the model in the above picture may be wearing it, and it looks gorgoeus. A great finishing, if unexpected, touch to a bronzed face.

Well, I've got a lot of work ahead of me tonight. But, wait - isn't there a new episode of LOST on tonight? That Sawyer - one of TV's sexiest stars in my opinion - can't miss him. Hmmm...if I was a Type A, I could probably do all these things and watch LOST, but since I mentioned that I'm too lazy to even use a face mask once a week, maybe I should just get comfy, have a glass of wine, and grab the remote. My beauty agenda may have to wait until another night...
Have a beauty-full night, whatever you choose to do!!
I think I'll be ordering the new Skinsheen Leg Spray to give some color and life to my blindingly white gams -MAC Cosmetics Online describes it as a smooth-on, gel-based bronzer (not a self-tanner) that’s soft and mousse-like to apply yet provides sheer to low coverage with subtle sheen and radiance. MAC notes, for flawless, streak-free results, apply with the 179 Body Buffer Brush. Comes in medium-dark / dark / deep dark.
